A VPN for a day or a week: is it possible, and what does it cost

You need a VPN for one day, a week or a trip, and you do not want to pay for a whole month. Below is how it works with us, where a short term is available for free, and what to do before a trip.

Does Mayak have a day or a week plan

No. The payment form in the account cabinet offers two terms: 1 or 3 months. There is no term shorter than a month, in the cabinet or in the help centre. Plans differ by the number of devices, not by the length of the term: what each costs is in the help centre, where Start is 300 ₽ a month for 3 devices.

We did not invent a short plan. For someone who needs it only briefly we have three free days — they are described below. If they are not enough, paid terms start at a month: you can cancel what you have paid for at any time — the refund terms are in the help centre.

What the free trial gives you

Our trial is 3 days on two devices, for example a phone and a computer or a TV. A confirmed email opens it; we do not ask for a card, nothing is charged at the end, and the trial has no auto-renewal.

• That is more than a “VPN for 1 day”. If you need one day, three free ones cover it with room to spare and cost nothing.
• The days run from the day you register. Until the email is confirmed there is no access, but the days are already counting, so confirm the mailbox at once. Creating an account “just in case” a month before a trip is not worth it — the free days would run out before you need them.
• You can pay before the trial ends. The remaining free days are not lost — the paid term is added to them.

Wallet and auto-renewal: the term does not get shorter

The wallet in the cabinet is a way to pay from a balance instead of a card each time: the account is topped up by an amount from 50 to 10 000 ₽ at a time. The term stays the same: paying from the balance takes the same 1 or 3 months as paying by card or SBP. You cannot buy a “day” for a few roubles from the balance.

Auto-renewal is switched on with a separate toggle in the cabinet, charges your cabinet balance — not a card — and we warn you before a charge. Why a “VPN for one day” elsewhere is most often a trial or a free key

We do not know how other offers are built and we do not compare them with ours. But the queries themselves show that people search for “for a day” almost always next to the words “trial” and “free”, not “buy”. The mechanics explain it simply, and the answer needs no names:

• Another service’s trial period is short free access after which you are asked to pay. The conditions of such periods differ, and the main thing is whether they ask for a card and whether money is charged on its own: what to look at.
• A free key from an open list is a line of settings for someone else’s server. Your traffic goes through it, so its owner sees where you connect, and such keys do not live long (we have not measured how long): why, and what a stranger’s server sees.

We have no free plan forever and we do not hand out keys from lists: with us access is bought for an account, and a subscription is not a file. This is not a reproach to those who take something free for a day, just a description of what exactly you get.

Before a trip: what to do in advance

1. Check at home, not on the road. Create an account, confirm your email, install the app and connect on mobile data and on Wi-Fi: the trial days run from the day of registration, so register no earlier than a couple of days before the trip.
2. If the trip is longer than three days, take a month before you leave. Payment is made in the cabinet: with a Russian card, through SBP or with cryptocurrency (USDT), details in the article on paying. Have your way of paying at hand in advance.
3. Check auto-renewal. Only you can turn it on, but it is better to make sure of that before you leave than after you return. Three days before the end of the paid period we remind you by email (if one is set) and in the cabinet.
4. Do not expect a ready answer about the destination. We cannot say in advance how a particular network or service will behave where you are going — the only check we offer is the trial days on your own network.

What we checked

• What people search for. On 9 October 2026 we went through the Wordstat queries containing “for 1 day” and “for a week” (Russia, the last month): phrases with “trial” and “free” clearly outnumber those with “buy”. These are query impressions, not people.
• The trial length — at our own server. On 9 October 2026 we asked the core with the same open request the registration form uses: the full trial is 3 days (after you confirm your email).
• The terms of payment — in the form itself. In the cabinet’s payment form the list of terms is 1 and 3 months (since 11 October 2026; before that there were also 6 and 12); paying from the balance has the same choice. There is no shorter option.
• The wallet, auto-renewal and Start at 300 ₽ were re-read in the help centre on 9 October 2026 and retold without additions.

What we do not know

• The terms in our Telegram bot. The help centre says it sells the same thing; we did not check its terms here.
• How other “for a day” offers are built. We did not measure them and described only the mechanics from what people search for; nor have we measured how long other people’s free keys live.
• Whether the service suits your network. That can only be checked on your own phone — which is what the trial days are for.

Can I use a VPN on a computer for 1 day? The trial works for a computer too: we have no app of our own for it, and the subscription link from the cabinet is opened in a third-party app — step by step. A computer takes one of the trial’s two places.

What happens when the three free days end? Nothing is charged: access simply ends. Your devices and settings are kept — choose a plan and everything works again.

Will money be charged on its own? Not from a card. Auto-renewal is switched on only by you, with a separate toggle, and charges the cabinet balance.

How much is the minimum term? A month; the price depends on the plan and the devices and is in the help centre. The cabinet shows the invoice total before you pay.
