People search for a “corporate VPN” with two quite different jobs in mind. Some need employees working from home to reach the office network: the file server, the accounting software, internal sites. Others want every employee to have an encrypted connection on any network, paid for by the company from one account. Both go by the same name, they work differently, and it is easy to buy the wrong one.
In short. If employees need resources inside the office, that is a gateway in your own network, and your administrator sets it up; Mayak does not do that. If you need an encrypted connection for employees’ phones and laptops that the company pays for and manages from one place, that is Mayak’s business access: the “Company” section in your account, 10 devices or more, paid for 1 or 3 months.
We build Mayak — a private network for phones, TVs and computers. For teams, your account has a “Company” section: one account to pay from, places for employees’ devices, and departments. 3 days free once you confirm your email, no card required. The trial is free and needs no card; without an email it is 1 day.
🍎 On iPhone Mayak works with the subscription link from your account. The real Happ (publisher Flyfrog LLC) is not in the Russian App Store — searching for that word there shows look-alike apps from other publishers. INCY (publisher LLC ITDEV) works instead: checked on 22 September 2026.
Two meanings of one word
Access to the office network. The office runs a gateway — a separate machine or a router feature. An employee connects to it and ends up “inside”, as if sitting at their desk. The gateway belongs to the company, its own administrator configures it, and users and permissions are set up there too.
Protected internet for employees. No office gateway is needed: the employee connects to the provider’s network and reaches the internet through an encrypted tunnel. It is the same as a personal subscription, except that the company buys the places instead of each employee paying for themselves.
| What we compare | Office network access | Protected internet for employees |
|---|---|---|
| What the employee gets | access to the company’s internal servers | an encrypted connection on any network |
| Where the equipment is | at the company | at the provider |
| Who sets it up | your own administrator | the provider; the company only hands out places |
| Mayak | no | yes — the “Company” section |
How it works at Mayak
A company is set up in your account, in the “Company” section. Right after that it gets its own account number, which starts with the Latin letter C — for example “C‑472‑918‑563”. This number is used to top up the company account and to name the company to support; you cannot sign in with it — every person keeps their own personal account.

- You pay for devices, not people. One place is one device. An employee with a phone and a laptop needs two places.
- Departments. Inside the company you can create departments, departments inside those, and give each a share of the places. A department manager sees and hands out only their own branch; they cannot raise their own department’s quota — the manager one level up or the company’s main manager does that.
- The “Payments” right. Topping up the account and buying more places is not only for the main manager: an accountant, for example, can do it once given this right.
- One person, one company. You cannot be a member of two companies at once.
What the manager sees
An employee joins a company only by themselves: they read the terms and press “Join”. Nobody can add a person without their consent — there is no such button, neither for the manager nor for us. The terms say it plainly:
“The manager will see your devices, how much traffic you use and when you registered. If you leave or are removed, the company’s access is switched off at once; your own subscription, if you have one, keeps working.”
On an employee’s card the manager sees the devices on the company’s places, the last connection, a traffic chart for 30 days, 90 days or a year, and can disconnect any such device — the place is freed at once. The employee’s personal devices — on their own plan or in a family group — the manager neither sees nor disconnects.
A company or a family group
Mayak’s personal plan already has “My group”: you give spare places of your plan to people close to you, and each of them has their own login. That suits two to five people — how it works. The “Company” section is for when:
- you have 10 devices or more;
- an organisation has to pay from its own account, not one person;
- there are departments and managers who hand out places to their own people;
- you need to see how many devices are working and disconnect the devices of people who have left.
If an employee already has their own subscription, it is not lost: after joining, their devices move to the company’s places, and their own subscription runs on its own term.
What Mayak’s business access does not do
Honest limits, so you do not buy the wrong thing:
- it gives no access to your office network — that needs a gateway in your own network;
- it does not take payment by invoice for a legal entity with closing documents — the company account is topped up by card or via SBP, the Russian Faster Payments System;
- it has no sign-in with corporate accounts: every employee has their own Mayak account;
- it has no trial with a company invitation — the company pays for the employee’s access.
How to start
- Sign in to your account or create one.
- Open the “Company” section and create the company — the account number appears at once.
- Set up departments and invite employees — how to do it.
- Top up the company account and pay for the places — how a company pays.

Short answers
What is a corporate VPN? Usually one of two things: employees’ access to the office network, or a protected connection for employees that the company pays for. Mayak does the second.
What is the minimum number of devices? 10. Places are paid for 1 or 3 months.
Does an employee need a new account? Not if they already use Mayak: they join the company from their own account. If not, they create one from the invitation.
Can someone leave the company? Yes, at any moment, with the “Leave the company” button. The company’s places are switched off at once; a personal subscription keeps working.
How much does it cost? 100 ₽ a month per device, 10 devices or more; your account shows the exact amount before you pay — what it is made of.
